Historical Fiction - Biography - Drama - Romance

My first published book in 2018 is my family's biography based on true events that took part in WW2 between 1939 and 1945. My father, a volunteer Flight Sergeant in the RAF, trained in radar and wireless operations before he was posted to Mons in Belgium. It was here that he met and married my mother who along with my grandparents had suffered under German occupation. It's reassuring knowing the book has received praise for delivering fascinating accounts of bravery, heroism, romance and moments of humour.

The first in a series of stories featuring RAF Spitfire ace Jonny Munroe, who became an agent in Churchill's Special Operations Executive (SOE). He survives dangerous missions in France and the Irish Republic whilst trying to juggle between duty and the women he loved. This fictionalised story tries to capture the character and the emotions of those who bravely confronted almost impossible odds and personal tragedy during the early years of WW2. â€‹

The 2nd book in the Jonny Munroe series. After his exploits in Northern France and Ireland in 1940, working for SOE, Jonny returns to France to help the resistance movements in the Southern Alps. An almost impossible campaign presented great dangers as he and British Commandos along with local Maquis resistance fighters tried to prevent hardened Nazi forces, from using the valleys of the lower Rhone-Alps to reach the Normandy beaches before D-Day.

After surviving WW2, Jonny Munroe is hoping to settle down with his wife Connie and looks forward to a happy family life. However, in the pre-Cold War period trouble was brewing which involved Russia, the USA and a Danish Marxist working from converted underground facilities on the Island of Giresun in the Black Sea. The top brass in London and Washington knew they had to stop the Dane known as 'Domino' from triggering another conflict far worse than the last one. MI6 asked Jonny to lead a dangerous mission to eliminate the threat.

It took 27 years to produce this book with its numerous photographs, started in 1993 by my late wife Daphne (Daf) White. After her tragic death in 2001, I persevered and I'm proud to have finally completed Daf's story of a charismatic British archer known for his archery skills, knowledge and coaching abilities. Mick Deacon was admired by Daf and became a hero to many but outlawed by others, including those in the sports governing body who saw him as a rebel. However, his honest, no-nonsense approach and sense of fun gained him many friends across the world.  â€‹â€‹

Born to a Greek mother and a British father, Harmony Forbes-Harrison reached adulthood with an altruistic attitude that determined her journey through life. She lost her mother to suicide, was raped as a 14-year-old and later witnessed the murder of her fiancee. Instead of dwelling on these events, Harmony found solace by helping others. In time, she even forgave the man who raped her and with the help of several philanthropists decided to embark on a worldwide campaign to promote good over evil.
